We’re hearing from our clients that budgets are shrinking. There is less $$$ for events, training, and team building. But there is more need due to remote teams, broken teams, daily overwhelm, sick-time absences etc…
Clients need more bang for the buck.
That’s where we come in. Book an award-winning, world-class emcee and speaker for a fraction of the in-person cost.
Digital/live/hybrid: How does this work?
Set up the presentation as an event where the audience is live and Roger presents digitally. Have AV set up so Roger can see the audience. (This is a simple AV set up.)
In fact, we are promoting (and getting booked) for our Virtual/Digital services more often now, because of that.
The business case for Virtual:
- The TOP end of our product line at the LOWEST end of our pricing!
- Tremendously engaging! Since the audience is live (and for virtual participants too) we can use our proprietary engagement strategies to create a massively engaging and interactive event.
- Participant engagement is the new top goal for events* (*engagement now being the first measure of a successful event)
- Immense value and ROI.
- Effective at a fraction of the price
- E.g. a DIGITALLY LIVE Emcee for 33-50% of the in-person price without any additional costs or stresses.
- Savings: No plane tix. No hotel rooms. No per diem. World Class speaker at FRACTION of the in-person price
- Avoid the danger of a NO SHOW (cancelled flights, sickness, medical emergency)
- Avoid infection vector (limit danger to in-person audience)
- No recorded content! Presented digitally live. Highly engaging. Amazingly Interactive. Powerful results… at a fraction of the price!
Give us a call today to chat about a Virtual option to include Roger at your next event at significant savings!!.
"Yes, once again - everything went great! Roger was awesome!"
For Virtual Keynote, Emcee and Facilitation - Diane Côté Mihalek, DCM Event Management
"Fun. Engaging. Interesting discussions. Really enjoyable to watch, thank you.Great speaker, entertaining and insightful. Roger’s enthusiasm and knowledge made me more engaged in this session
The topic and the way it was presented is very relevant to the times."

The thing about Engagement is that it works wherever you are.
Live. Virtual. or Hybrid.
They all do much better with Engagement.
Which leads to the principle of Active Participation.
Ideally, you want to create as much active participation as possible in whatever venue you find yourself.
If you think of it as a spectrum with active participation at one end (the best end!) and passive participation or even the lack of participation at the other end (the worst end!), then you want to keep your meetings, events, conferences deep in the active participation zone.
The more you keep your participants actively involved,
- the more learning occurs
- the more bonding
- the more relationship-building
- the better the networking
- the stronger the connections
- the better the outcomes.

I just wanted to say that the Mud Pie Kitchens were a hit and the Murder Mystery event was a blast, even though it was pretty challenging. You and your team really worked well together and I'm super happy with how everything turned out.
I'm also happy to hear that the YMCA was pleased with the completed Mud Pie Kitchens. It means a lot for our team to be able to give back to the community.
Thanks again for everything and wish you a wonderful and well deserved weekend. Best regards"

Another common inquiry we get is, "What do you have for team-building PLUS a CSR give-back?"
Mud Pie Kitchens to the rescue!!
CSR- corporate social responsibility really is taking off because when people come to conferences and meetings, they want to maximize their impact on the community and they want to minimize their impact on the environment.
Building Mud Pie Kitchens is a team-building give-back that creates hero energy! The goal is to encourage collaboration, communication, and creativity while giving back to the community in a hugely impactful way.
Does it work?
"Thank you for the great Mud Pie Kitchens event last Thursday! We have received fantastic feedback from staff on the whole event, and lots of compliments for you and your team as well. A common inquiry we get from our corporate clients is, "How do we maximize engagement?"
And our standard reply, is, "Our Engagement MAXimizer program."
Based on data from the Harvard Business Review, Gallup, and other leading organizations, statistics prove that a 1% increase in employee engagement can lead up to a 9% increase in revenue.
Our Engagement MAXimizer is a customized program (for your unique situation) of engaging techniques designed to multiply and magnify, creating high-impact and long-lasting results. Your organization will lock-in-learning to create a culture of engagement.
This program creates high-impact outcomes:
- Learn how to deal with stress and turn it into a positive force.
- Develop the techniques to stay engaged and be present, even when life (and the overwhelming changes that are part of life) conspires to steal your focus and drive.
- Transform team energy from disjointed, frustrated, competitive and negative to joyful, collaborative, creative and positive.
- Increase productivity: In Gallup’s research only 13 percent of all employees are “highly engaged,” and 26 percent are “actively disengaged.”
- Higher Retention and Lower Turnover
“The Engagement Maximizer was amazing! It was more than we could have hoped for. The way the keynote/workshop fit so perfectly with the Mud Pie Kitchens, it all came together and the day just kept building on each event. The whole far exceeded the parts. You were right when you said 1+1+1 was more than 3. WAY MORE than 3!!! Our company goals were not just met but exceeded!” Ryan Bosa, President Bosa Development

One of the things we regularly get asked to do is FACILITATION. One day, multiple days, workshops. Often it's our content and schedule, other times it's the client's content and schedule. Either way we bring some interesting and innovative energy and ideas to these events.
We start with Roger's Rules of Engagement which outlines for the participants how to act to best achieve results. Rules like:
- Misery is Optional
- Step Up/Step Back
- Movement is Necessary
- and the more fun YOU have the more fun THEY they have.
We create power in the room by empowering your participants. We create a 'hive mind' using the wisdom of crowds to lock in learning.
We work through your challenges using our engagement systems and tools for maximum results.
And running through it all is the power of play. We use play, fun, humour, smiles and laughs to create the energy to work through the hard parts. We usually work with clients multiple times as facilitators. Because they come back for more engagement energy. For more playful power. For more outstanding results.

- Companies that use our "Team Building Disguised as FUN" events on a regular basis often ask what other options are available besides our perennial favorites of FAMILY FEUD and PUB TRIVIA. Lots to choose from, but high on the list are our MURDER MYSTERIES and our IMPROV COMEDY. All are a ton of fun, engaging, and create fabulous team spirit, connections and great memories.
- Summer has sprung, and the great weather and heat have arrived. Not surprising to us, our Christmas and Holiday calendars are starting to fill up with bookings. Due to last year's packed calendar of events, we have added new actors to our roster so that we can accommodate more events this year. Typically we were maxed out at 5-6 events each day, but now we are able to increase that to 8-10. My suggestion? Reserve now before your special day and time get fully booked.

- Our proprietary ‘higher purpose’ teambuilding option building MUDPIE KITCHENS for at-need KIDS for the first time has been licensed to a partner Team Building company MSP Teambuilding, that services Central and Eastern Canada! Their event was a smashing success (of course! Mudpie Kitchens is an amazing program). If you want an amazing event in central Canada, we can now help you with a local supplier!
- Our comedic MOUNTIES are back! The first of many gigs happened this week to a rousing response! We find comedic Mounties a massive bang for the buck: they’re a great way to greet your guests in a surprising, engaging and interactive manner. They’re amazing for photo ops. They can arrest the CEO or honour an award recipient. They’re also amazing at getting people up and dancing. That’s why they are a massive bang for the buck.
- Due to high demand, we have been expanding our EMCEES options! More diversity! More choices! More amazing performers who can light up your event and make it engaging, energizing and lively!

1955 "Johnny Carson Show" debuts on CBS-TV.
1989 "Great Balls of Fire!" a quasi-biographical drama film starring Dennis Quaid as rockabilly pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis premieres; Lewis hates the film and the book from which it is sourced, but praises Quaid's performance.

- National OOTD Day
- International Mud Day
- National SAFER Workplace Day
- National Food Truck Day
- Fisherman’s Day
- International Asteroid Day
- National Cream Tea Day
- National Almond Buttercrunch Day
Start National OOTD Day, (not sure what ‘OOTD’ is? Well, it’s a Gen X term that means ‘outfit of the day.’) by picking out 2 sets of clothes, 1, to honor OOTD, get dressed in the best outfit you have, and 2, a set of old clothes for International Mud Day, where you get really muddy and observe nature, the outdoors, and mess. At work promote workplace safety for National SAFER Workplace Day, and then do lunch Food Truck style (how about fish and chips to celebrate Fisherman's Day?) to champion food trucks and encourage the hardworking men and women whose food businesses support the local economy, and plan a party for International Asteroid Day, and watch 51 Degrees North, the film that started it all, but be prepared to experience a rush of emotions, as although the movie is fictional, and an exploration of a potential real-world scenario, it gives you a lot to think about. Then wrap up the evening with Cream Tea, (either make it a simple affair with just jam, cream, and scones, or pile on the dainty snackwich and tea cakes) and finish up with Almond Buttercrunch, a simple recipe that combines toffee, chocolate, and sugar to give a luxurious texture to your desserts, and add almonds to the mix to enhance the texture by making it richer and grainier.

Start your day with a healthy bowl of Porridge, topped with bananas, fruits, honey, or all of them, and Take Your Dog to Work today, and support your local animal shelters and rescue dogs with a donation of money or time, and remember to Let it Go today, the perfect reminder for you to stop wasting your energy and time on negative feelings from events in the past and instead strengthen yourself, and show some support for the Family Owned & Operated Businesses in your area by appreciating their friendliness, service, and commitment to the local economy, and maybe pick up a Pink Flamingo or 4, as it is a fun way to add color and vibrance to your home, and try to get in some Kissing today, as it improves your health, (that’s right, kissing is actually good for you — #wellness — kissing relieves stress, burns calories, and benefits your immunity — with so many perks, we can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want to celebrate, so pucker up!), and then head home for some homemade Onion Rings, (classic fried recipe or try out a baked version?), and sip on a Limoncello, a lemon-flavored liqueur that originated in Southern Italy, where lemon trees are abundant, and it is the second most popular liqueur in Italy (Campari takes the No. 1 spot) and is usually served after dinner as a digestivo, because when life hands you lemons, well, you know the rest!!!

Team Building Disguised as FUN!!
Engagement is a Magnifier and Multiplier. Put engagement into a room (virtual or live) and magnify the benefits of what you want to get out of that room whether that is more engagement, creative fun, improved connections, better relationships, stronger bottom line and greater productivity.
Virtual and Live engaging Team Building options include:
Family Feud + Murder Mysteries + Improv Comedy + Name That Tune
Engagement is the secret sauce that makes (virtual and live) events and meetings magical.
Engaging Team Building options include:
- an engaging emcee/host
- creating engagement right from sign-on and throughout
- depending on time, either a series of short interactive events, or 1 primary event
- Prior to each event, we meet with each client to learn about their goals, and then we customize our content to maximize engagement
The need for engagement has never been stronger. Team engagement, internal power, communication and play are MORE IMPORTANT than ever.
“... this was definitely the best team building exercise I've done not just at Oracle, but in my 15 year sales career. It was fun, engaging, and everyone felt good afterward. It was a perfect blend of needing to concentrate on the work / teamwork and enjoying the experience. Creative and worthwhile.”

- National Chamoy Day
- National Fudge Day
While people say that love makes the world go ‘round, what people forget is that it’s a smile that makes the world a much happier place, so celebrate National Smile Power Day all day today, and for National Take Back the Lunch Break Day, step up to the plate — lunch plate that is, and take a regular and longer lunch break while you appreciate the beauty of Waterfalls from the comfort of your office by hanging their pictures around your cubicle and watching tourism videos on waterfalls on YouTube, and after work organize a party and go Ax-Throwing, which is designed to inspire sporty people to participate in a unique and enjoyable pastime, reduce tension, and simply have a good time with their friends and family members, before heading home for a Tapas fiesta (try Chicken Croquettes, Stuffed Fried Sardines, Open-Faced Crab Empanadas, Garlicky Shrimp with Olive Oil, and Chorizo-Filled Dates Wrapped in Bacon, and include some Veggies, like Spinach & Sweet Potato Tortilla and Spanish Stuffed Peppers — because, according to “Food & Wine” magazine, there is no such thing as a bad vegetable) and have lots of Chamoy ready, which is a saucy condiment made of dried chilies, lime juice, and fruit — usually mango, apricot, or plum, and then finish up with a few different types of Fudge, which, according to legend, a confectioner made by mistake when he flubbed trying to make caramel, but ended up creating something just as tasty.

FAMILY FEUD
Join Richard Dawson Jr. as he hosts your very own customized version of the hit game show Family Feud! This version gets the whole gang involved with 3 rounds of questions with 10-15 team members per round. A lightning round face-off determines the winner and everyone is treated to a fun game of Name that Tune.
We bring an amazing host, assistant, and everything needed to create the best experience for your guests. Top 5 answers are on the board…let’s play!
Perfect for interactive after-dinner entertainment!
HOW IT WORKS
- Warm welcome, rules, Team set-up
- 3 Question Rounds: 3 "Top 5 answers on the board" questions per round are asked. This allows for 6 teams of 5-15 guests each
- The Lightning Round: Our tech keeps score throughout the game and announces the top 2 teams, who then face off in a fast-paced trivia battle.
- Name that Tune: After the winning team is awarded, the energy in the room will be high, so we end the game on a literal high note by playing Name that Tune with everyone.
"Hi Michael, I finally had an opportunity to ask Chris how the Family Feud Event went. He said it was fantastic!
He said your guys were very funny and that they were right on point.
He was very impressed with how they interacted with the contestants, their audience and between each other.
He was very happy with how the event went. He said it was very funny and entertaining.
Afterwards, everyone was talking about how much they’d enjoyed it and how much fun they’d had. Even at the conference dinner later, the President got an almost minute by minute rendition of the event.
Chris said it was just as much fun listening to the guys talk about it. Thank you for helping the Industrial Division stand out just a little bit more than the Trade Division."
Myrna Sleeman, Industrial Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Cloverdale Paint
"Family Feud was a great success! It was very well received…and everyone seemed to be really engaged. We are a pretty competitive bunch, so it played nicely into that!
Thanks again for a great evening! Joel and Ryan were superb! Thanks,"
Christa Jackson, Boyden

- National Iced Tea Day
Call up your Best Friend today and invite them for a walk on the beach, where you can both catch up on events and do some beach cleaning for Oceans Day, and write out an anonymous note to give someone a bright and cheerful day with words of inspiration for Upsy Daisy Day, and maybe include a funny Donald Duck card as well (did you know Donald Duck made his cartoon debut in “The Wise Little Hen” back in the summer of 1934, and that he starred in over 225 movies?) and then home and do some Meal Prepping for the coming week, and include Egg Rolls, which are similar to Mainland Chinese spring rolls, but the egg roll has its contents wrapped in a crispy, thick, egg-dipped pastry, making the cabbage, meat, and other ingredients of the filling extra scrumptious, and close out the evening with some Strawberry Rhubarb Pie (did you know that rhubarb is a vegetable?) and a large glass of Iced Tea, sweetened or unsweetened—that’s your call.
Cheers
This week's wrap-up...
Facilitation
One of the things we regularly get asked to do is facilitation. One day, multiple days, workshops. Often it's our content and schedule, other times it's the client's content and schedule. Either way, we bring some interesting and innovative energy and ideas to these events.
We start with Roger's Rules of Engagement which outlines for the participants how to act to best achieve results.
Rules like:
- Misery is Optional
- Step Up/Step Back
- Movement is Necessary
- and the more fun YOU have the more fun THEY have
We create power in the room by empowering your participants. We create a 'hive mind' using the wisdom of crowds to lock in learning.
We work through your challenges using our engagement systems and tools for maximum results.
And running through it all is:
The POWER of PLAY
We usually work with clients multiple times as facilitators. Because they come back:
- For more engagement energy.
- For more playful power.
- For more outstanding results.
“We couldn’t of picked a more perfect way to create bonding and open communication channels between team members."
“The Facilitation was fantastic; it was just what our group needed after three long years of not being able to get together."
"A little imagination combined with massive action goes a long way." Grant Cardone

Or all of them?) and then plan to Leave the Office Early today (for those of you who find yourself living to work instead of working to live) so you can start cooking Rotisserie Chicken (did you know that rotisserie chicken is also referred to as tandoori chicken in India?) for your Tabletop party (the most popular board game is Monopoly, which holds the Guinness World Record for being played by the most people at 500 million people worldwide, and the longest game of Monopoly lasted 70 straight days), and also cook up some Eggs, maybe something different like pheasant, quail, goose, gull, or turkey eggs, and amaze your guests with the fact that an emu egg is equal to about 12 chicken eggs, while an ostrich egg is equal to about 24 chicken eggs, and put out a platter of Olives, as they offer a host of healthy types of fats and fatty acids, while also providing a natural source of iron (try some Kalamata, Thassos, Arbequina, Nyons, and Niçoise) and round out the party with some Bubbly, maybe a Dom Pérignon or Laurent Perrier Champagne, or Prosecco?

CSR with Mud Pie Kitchens
CSR- corporate social responsibility really is taking off because when people come to conferences and meetings, they want to maximize their impact on the community and they want to minimize their impact on the environment.
Building Mud Pie Kitchens is a team-building give-back that creates hero energy! The goal is to encourage collaboration, communication, and creativity while giving back to the community in a hugely impactful way.
The Mud Pie Kitchens are donated to underprivileged daycares and playgrounds in the local community.
It’s an amazing day where participants go home as heroes because they are making a difference in kids’ lives.
A University of British Columbia study shows that Mud Pie Kitchens are exactly what young kids need and what most daycares don’t have. The kids use fine motor skills and imaginative play outdoors. The kitchens are highly interactive and built with natural materials to create a very calming and soothing play area.
Mud Pie Kitchens encourages collaboration, communication, and creativity for your team, while giving back to the community in a hugely impactful way.
“Thanks so much! The Mud Pie Kitchens team building event was a HUGE success! I heard so many positive comments from people about how much they enjoyed it. One person said, ‘this is the best staff team building event that we’ve ever had – it really felt like we were doing something positive together and working together as a team’. We’ll be sure to recommend this to other departments here at the JIBC.” — Leanne Ross, JIBC, Justice Institute of British Columbia

Try lemon, strawberry, watermelon, orange, or cherry, and FYI - the popsicle was invented by accident in 1905) and add in Blueberry Cheesecakes (originated in 776 B.C. when Cheesecakes were served to athletes at the first Olympic Games in Greece because they were a good source of energy) and don't forget some Wine (archaeologists discovered evidence of winemaking in an Armenian cave, dated to 4100 B.C., including cups and jars for holding wine, wine presses, and vats for fermentation, and even grape seeds and vines) and also pack sunscreen for Don't Fry Day, a friendly reminder from the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention for everyone to protect their skin as they usher in the summer, and remember Nothing To Fear Day when President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941 declared that “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”, and finish up the day with a Paper Airplane contest, and let your inner child fly as you challenge the two basic flight categories of distance and time in air.

Team Building Disguised as FUN!
NAME THAT TUNE
An awesomely fun, on-trend group activity that gets participants up on their feet, singing, dancing, and battling head-to-head in the ultimate music competition. Your classic game show host will divide the room in half and pit teams against each other in a series of music-based games.
TUNE TRIVIA
A round of light-hearted pub-style music trivia with questions like “Which rockstar wrote the infamous Bangles hit ‘Manic Monday’?” (PRINCE!)
SHAKE IT OFF DANCE-OFF
Representatives from each team are called up to show off their best moves to Taylor Swift’s dance hit “Shake it Off”. Top contenders on each side must face off before a neutral judging party and show off their best “Running Man” “Sprinkler” or even “Fax Machine” - whatever they can rock with the most confidence!
BLIND KARAOKE
An iconic pop/rock song is played, but right before the chorus, the music is cut and guests must guess the next set of lyrics.
e.g. “Wake me up, before you go-go, don’t leave me hangin’ on....” (LIKE A YO-YO!)
“I wanted to send you a note to say THANK YOU very much for all that you did to make our sales rally such a success! Kicking it off with Name that Tune was perfect, and everyone loved it! The team building event [Playschool Playscapes] was incredible, I have had so much great feedback about how fun it was, and how much they loved the fact that we were “giving back”. I know that was a lot of work for your team to prepare, and we truly do appreciate you working with us to make that happen!" - Helen Pratt, Director, Sales Fairmont Hotels Pacific Northwest
